Special Response Team
The Mount Holly Township Police Department has eight officers who are assigned to the Burlington County Joint Tactical Team. Seven of the officers are tactical operators and one is assigned as a crisis negotiator.

The Burlington County Joint Tactical Team is made up of officers from the following departments: Mount Holly, Burlington City, Medford Township, Mount Laurel Township, Evesham Township and Willingboro Township.

The officers assigned are all highly trained and are available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week to respond to hostage/barricaded person(s) incidents, high risk warrant services and any other call of a special nature that may warrant it.

Emergency Services Unit
The ESU is a newly formed unit within the department. The team consists of eight officers who are currently under going training in hazardous materials, vehicle/building rescue, firefighting, emergency medical technician and a variety of other advanced training to provide additional services to the citizens of Mount Holly Township.

K9 Unit
The K9 Unit was formed in 1985. The unit was started with one patrol dog "Duke," a German Shepherd, who was handled by Police Officer (P.O.) John Miller. In 1995 the unit was expanded to include the departments first narcotics detection dog, "Logan," a Golden Retriever, handled by Acting Chief Steven Martin.

Since the year 2000 the unit has expanded to four K9 teams. P/O Earl McQuarry and "Benne," a German Shepherd, who is trained in patrol work and tracking. P/O Earl McQuarry and "Benne" are also assigned to the Burlington County Joint Tactical Team.

P.O. Ronald Weiman and "Casey," a German Shepard, who is trained in narcotics detection.

In 2005 the Mount Holly Township Police received a grant from the Department of Homeland Security, which allowed us to add our newest team, P.O. Kara McIntosh and "Patton," a Golden Retriever, who has been trained for explosives detection. The grant covered all the costs of purchasing "Patton," training, and a 2006 Dodge Durango.

Traffic Safety Unit
The TSU consists of five members, who have all received advanced training in traffic accident investigation. The unit is also responsible for traffic analysis, special enforcement details, and education to the public to reduce motor vehicle accidents.

For questions regarding traffic safety/education, please send an email to Sgt. William Seitz at bseitz@mountholly.info

School Services Unit
The SSU consists of two School Resource Officers. P.O. James Harper is assigned to the Rancocas Valley Regional High School and P.O. Scott Bayley is assigned to the Mount Holly Township School District.

In addition to providing traditional police services to the schools, the officers are involved in a wide variety of programs designed to educate and assist our youth in a wide variety of topics.

Both of our School Resource Officers are also instrumental in the Mount Holly Township Recreation Program, coordinating summer recreation trips, the fishing tournament, haunted hayride, holiday parade, basketball tournaments and other activities for the children of our community.
